Long press to search – Kikin for Android
Kikin was a search & learn service that displayed search results and answers when the user long pressed on words, on Android. Kikin was embedded at the operating system level and worked in any application (native or downloaded).
My role was to design a unified experience across devices, screen sizes and screen orientations while following the Android visual styles, guidelines and constraints. I explored new product features, iterated solutions and defined design logics along with interaction paradigms.
Kikin launched in January 2013 on select Vodafone devices (Smart II, Smart III, HTC One, Galaxy Note III) in Europe and was installed on 900k devices by Spring 2014.
